A steppingstone to a new career

The war for talent is a very real one in the insurance world. And attracting new talent is becoming increasingly difficult, especially because the insurance field requires a wide range of skills, from warm human contact with customers to the technical follow-up of (claims) files.

AG believes that ‘inclusive recruitment’ means doing things differently

Over the past few years, AG had already shifted the cursor from a diploma-first to a competence-first approach to recruitment and selection, relying on a solid training and development structure and infrastructure to prepare new recruits for their roles as claims handlers or policy administrators.


In 2023, AG went one step further and created the AG College: a unique 6-month in-house training programme targeted at people without a higher education diploma who wish to equip themselves for a new career in insurance. 


After a first successful wave, which saw 12 students graduate from the AG College and now taking up roles as claims handlers and policy administrators on a permanent basis, AG launched a second wave. 20 new candidates were selected to be trained as Life and Healthcare administrators.

A Great place to Grow for ALL

“Unlimited Jobstudent” is an impact company that focuses on the creation of equality of opportunity in the labor market. The founders saw a great need among young students with a disability or chronic illness to be able to develop their talents during their college years, through a student job. AG has chosen to partner with Unlimited Jobstudent to help boost the talent of young people and create a more inclusive labor market that embraces disability and the special skills everyone has to offer. As a result, several students with a disability or illness are getting their first job opportunity within AG. 


Historically, many people living with disabilities or chronic illness find the whole job application process very stressful. Sharing a diagnosis can be awkward, and at worst, some applicants hear nothing more after an initial interview. But all that is required is a clear understanding between the employer and employee of any limitations that may exist and the best way to deal with them. AG wants to be a Great place to Grow for every talent, a workplace where everyone feels welcome, can be themselves and has an opportunity to grow. It’s important to look beyond disability, limitations, and chronic illness, but look at talent and the desire by applicants to contribute.

A Great place to Study

Studying together remains a trend among students, partly because of the greater sense of togetherness. Responding to the growing demand for workplaces where students can prepare for exams together, AG is making 25 workplaces available to Brussels students at its headquarters. In collaboration with Brik, students can find comfortable study places at AG during exam periods.
